Velvety Lemon Sauce

I got this recipe from a box of butter years ago and fell in love with it. I mean, I fell hard. I adore lemon on vegetables so of course adding even more delicious ingredients only makes it that much better. Seriously, I put lemon on just about anything that needs a little brightening or heightened flavor.

5 Gifts for Mother’s Day

Mom deserves the best so today I am sharing five things to spoil any food-loving mom. They can also arrive before the big day so if you waited until the last minute (I am guilty too!) have no fear. Click on the photo to be directed to where you can purchase.*

1. For the Baker
The Sweetapolita Bakebook was just released in April. It is a gorgeous book featuring 75 incredible cakes and confections from Rosie. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram I am sure you have seen my obsessive posts. I am halfway through reading it and cannot wait to get in the kitchen and start baking!

2. For the Reader
Okay so this isn’t exactly for the foodie mom but hear me out. If you get Mom the Sweetapolita Bakebook she needs a comfortable place to read it, right? Problem solved!

3. For the Made-from-Scratch Mom
This custom cutting board is a sweet reminder of your love every time Mom makes a meal.

4. For the Wine Lover
These beautiful stemless crystal wine glasses are perfect for the mom with elegant taste who enjoys entertaining.

5. For the Coffee Lover
Treat Mom to the ultimate lazy morning luxury – French Pressed Coffee. While you are at it, pick up some course ground coffee at her favorite shop.

No matter what you choose to get Mom she is sure to appreciate it. Happy Mother’s Day!

Lemon Ginger (Nausea Busting) Gummies

These brightly flavored gummies are delicious and the juice can be changed to create any flavored gummy you’d like. I made them with lemon and ginger because I love those flavors together. I also wanted something that would help subdue my nausea and ginger is incredible at doing just that. They were a huge help and I kept some in my nightstand to have before getting up for the day.

I was having a difficult time trying to come up with something to share with you today so I decided it would be best to tell you why I was making these in the first place so keep on reading past the recipe.

Hello! This is Cathy from crafts & cake, and I’m here to share with you my peanut butter lava cake recipe.

Coconut Filled & Frosted Brownies 1.jpg text

This recipe is a first for me on a number of levels. One, it’s my ever frosted brownie, how can that be!! I love brownies and believe my signature brownie recipe ticks all of the vital brownie must haves. It’s dense, rich, intensely fudgy and packed full of chocolate.

Adventures of Bed Rest (and a Chocolate, Date & Almond Smoothie)

This smoothie satisfies a sweet tooth and has a nice dose of protein and fiber to keep you satisfied. I have been eating very similar to the Paleo diet the past couple weeks. I did not have much trouble cutting out dairy or grains but cutting out sugar has been a huge challenge for me. I have been having serious withdraw cravings and cannot get it out of my head. That is where this shake was born.
